Meditation on Gods word can aid connection to the Holy Spirit and it turns our focus onto Him. The benefits of which are:
- To bring us closer to Him
- Calms our soul- helps us to see reality and reduces heightened emotions
- Brings us back to the present moment, the here and now, and turns our attention to Him
How to meditate?
1/ Eliminate distractions.
2/ Get comfortable.
3/ Use these scriptures and verses and repeat them over and over, keeping your mind focused on these and the Holy Spirit.
4/ If your mind wanders, bring it gently back to the scripture/ verse your focusing on.
5/ Stay in this place for as long as necessary. I recommend between 5 minutes and 1 hour.
Scriptures to Bring Peace
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. Psalms 29:11
