Want to experience ultimate, pure, never- ending, unwavering, love?
Most of us do!
Whether married, in a relationship, with kids or without or single and feeling alone. You CAN experience this type of love.
I longed to be loved by someone, someone who respected me, some one who wanted an equal relationship, someone to put the world to rights with. But most importantly someone that loves God before themselves and before me.
Your probably wondering one of two things right now…
Where’s she going with this, I thought this is about meditation and love?
That’s what I want, I’m feeling unloved too!
Read on and i will answer both of these.
Just as new years was approaching I began asking these questions. At the same time I had anther bout of illness- well, as a result from the illness I had concussed myself badly, (post concussion syndrome according to the doc) I had a continuous migraine for 3-4 weeks and was unable to do any work.
I was questioning what God was doing, as was trying to finish and publish ‘Christian Based Cognitive behavioural Therapy and how to become Mindful of Christ.’ But I couldn’t even look at a screen for the pain. But through prayer, and listening to Him, I heard Him say to me, “Be still, know me, draw closer.”
I was already doing the usual; regularly praying, worship, reading devotionals, but He wanted more of me. So I began bible in one year, and turned up the praying a few notches; started keeping a prayer book, who to pray for etc, began journalling and included prayers and scripture in it and as I did, I wanted to know Him more and more, It was amazing, drawing even closer to Him. Check out ‘New Year, New You, same God’.
By doing this I discovered how much he really does loves me.
I know, I know…we read over and over in the bible how much He loves us, but I was finally experiencing this love and through this, my yearning for that human love and affection has almost disappeared.
Now, yes it would be nice to meet a man to love and be loved back, but right now is not the Lords timing and I’ve come to accept that, not in a bitter way but in a way where I already feel loved. And so, if and when it happens it will be in His timing.
Are you feeling unloved?
Here a few verses to remind us all of His love for each and every one of us. Use these especially over the next few weeks, with valentines round the corner, to focus on, study and meditate.
God LOVES You!
Feeling unloved? Try these Scriptures for Meditation
John 3.16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 8.37-9 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Isaiah 54.10 Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Ephesians 2.4-5 But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved.
1 John 3.1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
Ephesians 5:1-2 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
Psalm 136.26 Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.
If we accept His love for us, walk in this way and follow His example as we are told in Ephesians 5 and the above verses. Not only will we begin to accept His love, If we haven’t already, but we will then truly understand His love for us. And then perhaps love ourselves as He loves us too!
