What is the truth about Easter? We all love the chocolate eggs, the bunnies and especially the Spring time with the warmer weather and the new baby lambs.
But what do they represent?

It’s the end of an old life and the beginning of a new life. The changing seasons are relevant in this. The Easter eggs represent new birth and perhaps the lambs represent the lamb of God. All of which point to Jesus Christ, the Son of God; God Himself who came to Earth as man, born as a brand new baby from Mary. Christmas is the celebration of Jesus’ birth and Easter is about His death and resurrection.
“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation,”
1 Peter 1:3 NLT
“So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.”
1 Corinthians 15:21-22 NLT
Jesus died for you and me, He died for us all, to take on the sin of the world, so we can be forgiven and have a relationship with Father God, the creator of the Heavens and the Earth. In addition to this we also get to spend eternity with Him in Heaven when we leave this Earth. Not only did He die, He defeated death itself by His resurrection; coming to life again after 3 days! Incredible!!
This is the Truth about Easter!
““For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”
John 3:16 NLT
“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9 NLT
You can see in John 10:9 that all we are to do is to believe this fact.
Do you?
It is this new life that Jesus Himself has bought for us, He paid our debt of sin on that cross- He took them on His shoulders and they died with Him. And through this came complete forgiveness which gave us a new life that you can experience today! This is also known as grace.
