open the door

Open The Door

‘Open the door’ is a metaphor of opening your heart. Jesus is knocking on the door to your heart. He wants to come in. He wants to be part of your life.

Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.
Revelation 3:20 NIV

Watch the video below for a Bible study on Revelation 3.19-22.

As you just saw, Jesus wants a relationship with you. He wants to be part of every area of your life.

Your relationships, work, emotions, health etc. He wants to be part of all of it.

Have a think about the following questions and write down your answers.

  • Have you let Him in?
  • Is He in every area of your life, or just some of them?
  • Is there something keeping the door jammed? Something preventing you from opening the door wide enough for Jesus to step right in?

Then offer these up to God. Ask Him to help you to get rid of anything that’s keeping the door jammed and is preventing you from opening it fully.

Perhaps your mindset is stopping you. (Phrases like “I can’t do this?”, “This doesn’t apply me”, “I’ve tried, it doesn’t work” , ‘I’m not good enough, He doesn’t want me.” etc.)

These are all lies!!

You can do this! It says so right there in scripture:

You can do ALL things through Him who gives you strength!

Phillipians 4:13

Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. The Lord is good to all, and his mercy is over all that he has made.

Psalm 145:8-9

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Phillipians 1:6

You see, scripture says ALL things, not some things or a few selected things but ALL.

It also tells us that He is good to ALL. Again, not some of His children but ALL of us!

He has began good in you, we can’t decide that that is not true, because He tells us here and He is not a liar. So you have a choice. To believe all of His word (the Holy Bible) or not.

Open the door

Now, I know full well that some things are harder than others and some of those things that may be “Jamming” that door of yours may need outside help. The barriers in my life, in the past certainly did and if they come up again I know that asking for help is important. Most importantly we need to ask God and the Holy Spirit. We can also ask others too; trusted friend, family, church leaders or a coach or mentor.

If you need any additional help breaking through those things that are “Jamming” you from opening the door then have a look HERE at how I can help you and book in your FREE intro session below.

  1. He who began a good work in you – we can choose to believe it just like He says He did. Great reminder. His Word is always true. 💙
