Hey everyone, welcome back! Following from last week, today in the Soulcare series #2 we’re going to be looking at ‘soulcare’ vs ‘selfcare’ and the difference between the two.
We know that self care is about looking after and caring for ourselves.Â
But what is the difference between that and soulcare?Â
What exactly are the benefits of looking after and caring for our soul?
When I was doing my research on this, Susie Rock explained it very clearly. This is what got from her…
Self care vs Soulcare
Self care is about looking after self. Its like taking a rest, break or a vacation from daily tasks. Like routine, work and responsibilities and giving self some time out or a treat. For instance a bubble bath.
How do you feel after taking timeout for self care? Rested, rejuvenated?
These are all great things to experience and do for yourself, but as you are probably aware, this feeling is temporary. As that rested and relaxed feeling or state could be interrupted. Something might go wrong or someone might say or do something that could upset you.Â
And then how do you feel? Back to where you were before hand?

What if I were to say that soul care could provide you with longer lasting rest, replenishment and satisfaction?
And that isn’t because thats what we are after, thats just the result. The result of taking care of our soul, the result of submitting to the Lord, the result of putting Him first, before anything else, before ourselves.
Through true revival, applying His word to our lives, repenting and putting our full trust in Him, our soul can be restored.

Psalm 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul.
The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.
Psalm 42:11 Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Remember from last week the 6 areas of what sums up our soul? Well, next week we will address some of these and start to go through how we can apply soulcare into our lives and experience God in the way that He wants us to.
Feel free to comment below with your experiences of self and/ or and soulcare.

A couple of weeks ago, I felt like I was withering. Without planning, I just decided to get away for a few days. I packed and left. I have never had the luxury to do this. I had no kids at home and no huge responsibilities that couldn’t be put off for a few days. This was the best thing I have ever done. I came back a new person. I spent the time fellowshipping with the Lord and reconnecting with Him.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing! xx
I love this!! I am definitely all about self-care, but soul care is so much more important. My goal includes improving myself in both these areas more consistently. Thank you for writing this post. 💖💄
Thank you for sharing your goals! Hope it goes well, and that the following weeks can be of some use to you. Blessings x
