To answer the question “What is Christian Freedom?” we must first look at what scripture says about freedom:
So, Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.
He is the one who called you to freedom.
For you. have been called to live in freedom, my brothers & sisters.
Galatians 5:1, 8b, 13
Galatians 5 is all about freedom in Christ. We are told that it is Christ who set us free.
But what does this mean?
We are free from death; we are promised eternity with Christ, in heaven.
We are free from law (v1). We no longer need to feel guilt, shame or fear that we are doing wrong. It is in and through the grace of Jesus, who died for us then defeated death, that you HAVE been set free from this!
We have been given freewill- we get to make choices in life. Do we follow the way of the world or follow Christ and how he lived? It’s your choice.
We are free to live out our pre- destined purpose that God has for each and every one of you, you all have a purpose and living in that is freeing; we don’t have to strive and struggle through life, if we do life with Him, we can strive instead!
By living with Christ, not only do we have the promise of eternity but He will always be with us through all times and seasons in our lives (Joshua 1:9) On top of this, again, through the Holy Spirit, we receive freedom, peace, joy, love, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). These are otherwise known as the fruit of the Spirit. When you’re baptised by the Holy Spirit, you will be able to access and experience all of these fruits.

The important thing to remember and take away today is that you, everyone, all of Gods Children, all believers of Christ are entitled to this freedom. It’s not just for a selected few!
This freedom is for YOU!
But what if you have been baptised by the Holy Spirit, but “life” has got the better of you. Perhaps chains of darkness, disbelief, sin, behaviours, habits (old or new) have crept in and are now preventing you from living this freedom?
Can you relate?
If so, check out Breaking Chains. This workshop & book will help you to break chains of beliefs and behaviours so you can be set free into new life, peace and victory.
