Spiritual growth

Spiritual Growth

Spiritual growth, like any other growth is important. Because, if we aren’t growing then we are staying still! Right?!

If babies didn’t grow they would stay as babies forever. It seems a bit elaborate, but theres a point here!

Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment. Peter 2:2

We need nourishment, we need to grow in our relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The more we grow the stronger we get.

The newborn babies, represent new believers.

Remember when you first came to Him? You were new to it all but wanted the milk; more of God, you wanted nourishment and to be satisfied, right?

Do you still feel this way?

Do you still crave Him? Are you hungry or do you want to be hungry for God again and grow?

What prevents Spiritual Growth?

Your mindset and behaviours can have a huge impact on how you grow spiritually. You may not be able to change certain situations around you but the one thing that can be changed is how you respond to these.

When you are strong Christ the more we become like Him and less like ourselves we are.

He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less.

John 30:3

Are you aware of any negative self talk or mindset & behaviour triggers?

By exploring these, how you speak about yourself and knowing what brings on any toxic emotions or behaviours, you can recognise what it is, if anything, that is holding you back. What is it that may be restraining you or preventing you from living in the freedom, fullness, peace, love, joy, hope and self- control that God does have for you.

These triggers or situations can also be known as chains. And these chains don’t have to remain in your life, they can be broken! You don’t have to live restrained without growth any longer!
